What does SEO mean to you? I see SEO as marketing a website for search engines in a similar manner as marketing a product or service until it becomes inbuilt in people's minds as a true authority in that field. A product can be professionally packaged and a high quality but if it is not known to consumers, it will not sell. Likewise, websites need the right "SEO appeal" to be aesthetically appealing but also findable in search engines. Why does SEO appeal to you so much? It's nice to know that with the right web tools, I can make a site more likely to be clicked than if it was a paid sponsored advertisement. It's a new way of looking into advertising, one which targets the right audience and delivers exactly what they want. I think that's the way of the future. When you are not up to your elbows in keywords what do you do? I swim to reinvigorate and keep fit, sing to entertain my friends on a karaoke night and act in community theatre, just for the love of it. Three things that make you tick? The support of my family, the sense of accomplishment that comes from coming up with solutions for work tasks and making up the most of my time here, be it by learning new things, cultivating my hobbies or giving back to the community. Favourite food? Do apples count? Ok, then, that would be mum's polenta and her home made fries. Other than that, I'm always happy with Thai food. If you could host a dinner with any three people, who would you choose and why? Stephen Hawking – since Einstein could not attend, Professor Hawking would be the second best and he would stir a very insightful conversation regarding the mysteries of the universe, Sharon Osbourne - her irreverent humour is sure to spice up this dinner and Selma, my former math's teacher. The lessons she gave us in college proved to be extremely valuable in several steps of my life and I can still hear her voice in my head "Negative multiplied by negative, positive." I think it would be interesting to see them all together. If given the chance to skip work for a day, how would you spend the entire day? I'd spend a long day at the beach, have pizza for lunch with my friends and take my time feeding the seagulls. The perfect ending would be if it rained on that night (after I am safe and dry indoors) and I was watching a nice movie on the couch.
"[A]nd then it occurred to me that a computer is a stupid machine with the ability to do incredibly smart things, while computer programmers are smart people with the ability to do incredibly stupid things. They are, in short, a perfect match." ~Bill Bryson
